i have an old analogue satalite dish and reciever , if i purchase a new digital receiver will the dish and wire work or will i have to buy smaller dish any help would be grateful

you can pick up 2nd hand digi dishes pretty cheap though0 -
The dish will be fine - the LNB should be OK if you are not getting Sky+ as long as it not a very ancient one.

The dish will be OK but chances are the LNB is NOT a "universal" type so it won't work. The dish won't need "re-pointing" (unless it's brick and mortar) but it will need to be aligned on the Astra-2 satellite cluster.

Check the LNB fitting but it's probably a standard 40mm diameter clamp. This is NOT the same as those used on Sky minidishes, so make sure you buy the right one.
