Solicitors on go slow

Options
Our solicitor has not had the last enquiries back from our vendors, which she sent over 1 month ago.She needs this so we can exchange. They are also asking for 1 month til completion,so are they dawdling for a reason? She has chased their solicitor and he keeps saying that he has got them and will send them. Its been like that for 2 weeks and she still hasn't got them.Apart from chasing her what can we do.Should we try and phone our vendors solicitors and ask him what is going on?

Your vendors solicitor wont talk to you. What you can do is ask your vendors to chase or get your EA to chase

    Agree with suki.

Also, instruct your solicitor to go over the head of the vendor's solicitor and speak to someone more senior in the firm about the problem if the EA or vendor can't get them to get a shift on.

This is probably just pressure of work causing the delays, either in getting the work out for typing or in the typing itself but she should then say so and least everyone will know what the delay is.

Get the phone number of your vendors and let them know. Our vendors were pleased to hear when their solicitor wasn't doing something as they often didn't know. Then they could chase them themselves.
