The light arrived yesturday. On this occassion I was hit with a £9.84 customs & handling charge, dissapointing YES. That said though, it's only the second time I have incurred this charge and I have ordered numerous items from abroad.
The light
I am once again pleasantly suprised by the quality / power a product supplied by photonlight. I had my doubts about whether this piece of kit was going to be useful for what I wanted it for. "Viewing house numbers in the dark at about 30ft" be assured it serves its purpose. At close range eg <6ft it projects a light which out performs a 2*AAA Maglite & also a 3D maglite, the 3D maglite is better for ranges between 6ft - 30ft, the photon doesn't perform visually beyond 30ft.
The little computer control unit in the light is quite unlike previous models and takes a little getting used to, and I am a little dissapointed that the white mode comes on at full brightness and has to be reduced to the required strength. There will be no descretion with this light.
Incidentally "they" advise against looking directly at the light, I would also advise against this. I really can't compare the uncomfortable feeling it produces to anything, it's bright.
Accessories it comes with:
The light has a sturdy keyring clip & belt/pocket slide.
The case has a sturdy D ring, belt hoop & a velcro belt hoop, the closest thing this case resembles would be a "Stanley Tool Pocket".
£43.00 was the overall cost, but I am glad I have purchased one. This is definately a product for professionals, or if you have money to burn.
I'm off to find some more nook's & crany's to illuminate!!
