I'd much rather get one of these:
    http://www.theorb.co.uk/orbraw.php?PHPSESSID=ac740eddb69785a1b4c9088de9ec6701

It is a bit more but you don't have to worry about customs charges! Also, it's a LOT brighter!

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: For legal reasons codes are not permitted on the Grabbit board and have been moved. This look's nice!! I'd be a little worried about the 20 minute run time on full power, and this doesn't have the differing lighting effects. Going to check the site again to see if they have any retail outlets?

No retail outlets. It is quite a different product from the LSI Proton so they're not really direct competition. There's none of the fancy lighting stuff the Proton has, just RAW power! The 8 hours on low is very useable.

On the subject of LED lighting, I bought a cheapy headlight for 5 pounds some years ago with 5 LED's in it. It was ok for close up work but not very good for caving/walking around in the dark. Around 2 months ago there was a guy promoting his LED shop business so I took a look at what his site had on it. I decided that I would buy the 3 watt LED headlight that also has 3 bright normal LED's in it too so as to save battery life when the 3 watt one was not needed. My word, it's fantastically bright, hurts your eyes to even look at it when it's on the 3 watt LED. It says the beam is adjustable, but it's not as adjustable as i'd like it to be, but it's so bright that most times there is no need to re-focus the beam to get more light into certain places.
Now the best part, it was only 15 dollars including delivery. (think thats about 8 pounds something) Bargain.
Link is here if anyone wants to see it. http://www.ledshoppe.com/Product/ledp/LP2005.htm Compared to the prices you pay for a similar light output in this country then you really cant go wrong (I know that the build quality isnt as good as the more expensive ones - but you could go through several of these before you have even paid the same as one from the high street).

Crikey, this is a busy board. P10, I've not been keeping an eye as PC broke. So have we had any takers for this?

I hope mine is first to arrive.

Sorry maybe I’m missing the point, but what’s the big deal about a torch? Can anyone explain to me why it’s worth forking out £30+ for one of these things when I can get an adequate LED/Normal torch for <£5? With this being a money saving site I’m just interested why its worth spending the extra bucks! :)
