That is a Violation of The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 (No. 1277). Trading Standards.
Also as they are not BPA members how did they get driver details? Ask the DVLA when and how it revealed and to whom. The ICO may need to be involved.

You don't need to be a member of BPA to get driver details.

IIRC anyone can get details ...if they have 'reasonable cause'...ah and £2.50.

I believe BPA members get electronic access - quicker, easier and cheaper for them.

Doubtless someone else can confirm or otherwise..

I assume that's a typo, they can't get drivers details from the DVLA, only registered keepers.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
  • Ranger Services (I understand) will provide these details to any ppc who wants to pay. I think DVLA should up their prices to at least a tenner then the scumbags will have to pay even more to not get their invoices paid.

    • the V888 - for members of the public
    • the V888/2 - for companies (all circumstances, except where a penalty charge notice is issued)
    • the V888/3 - for companies (only if the keeper details are required to issue a penalty charge notice or reminder)
    • Example of format for mulitple applications-companies

    Indeed registered keeper not driver.

    These companies use V888/3.

The Data Protection Register entry for this company is sadly lacking their Registration Number is Z1906697. I suggest it is examined.

Only members of the BPA Approved Operator Scheme get electronic access. Ordinary members do not. There are approximately 600 ordinary members of the BPA whilst there are only around 100 who are members of the AOS. AIUI whilst electronic access is certainly quicker and easier it still costs the standard £2.50 fee for each enquiry.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com
