Yes flown many times and am doing it again on Friday, US carriers are generally jolly with hats and you do get an airline christmas dinner.

I flew three years ago, with BA to Seattle. Economy was overbooked so we got a free upgrade to Premium, which was nice. I expected a very festive atmosphere, and was a bit disappointed as it was a fairly ordinary flight.
The airport experience was fine both ends - very friendly and helpful staff. Driving up the M4 was also great with very liitle traffic, as you'd expect.
Our friends travelling with us did not get the upgrade, and were scattered around a few rows apart. To top things off for them the airline ran out of Christmas dinners and they had to settle for curry!
We saved loads by travelling on Christmas day, so all in all it was a great experience.

A few years ago I was on-board an Emirates flight on Christmas day and they had made an effort of a traditional christmas dinner. They also gave us a cake each (similar to the birthday cake) with Happy Christmas iced on it. No crackers though obviously ;) This was in F though.
