My boyfriend and I (both students) want to travel to the US in these summer holidays. We're looking at around 5 days in New York, plus Boston/Philadelphia, then Toronto, then flying back from New York. Travelling early July for 2.5 or 3 weeks. Ideally we want direct flights - but despite our relative flexibility about dates, the cheapest we can find is over £500.. Can anyone help? Budgeting about £1500 for the whole trip so any tips will be welcomed! (Have looked at the student STA travel but their cheapest flight was over £900!!)
Many thanks.
Many thanks.

Hi,
My OH and I spent seven months last year travelling around the States and Canada on our honeymoon following our wedding in New England. I spent so much time organising this trip and finding the best deals, flights, hotels etc.
From our experience it was so much (and I mean so much) cheaper to fly from the UK into Canada, we went from Birmingham to Toronto for £120.00 each through Canadair and had no problems whatsoever.
We spent the first three months on the east coast.
You will probably find that any flight in or out of Philladelphia is highly priced. We actually went to New York and then hired a car to drive to Philladelphia, it was only about 2 hours drive.
Philladelphia is quite a small city in itself but then so is Boston relatively speaking compared to some of the other cities in the States. You will simply run out of time in New York no matter how long you go for, there is just so much to do. So good we returned back there in December at the end of our trip for Christmas shopping before flying home.
Having searched many, many sites for flights etc, expedia.co.uk continually came out at the best prices.
My biggest piece of advice is don't try and cram too many places in in such a short space of time. There is nothing worse than being in these wonderful cities and not seeing everything that you want to.
If you want any more information on what to do and things to see and I can be of any help just let me know.If you get to thinkin' you're a person of some influence, try orderin' someone else's dog around!0
