    Don't be daft, the eighties was the most important decade. All those lovely 8 bit machines, the first IBM PC was launched, the Apple Lisa was launched which was the first personal computer with a GUI, although it was soon superceded by the Macintosh.

    Then later in the eighties you got the first 16 bit machines appearing.
