Hello all. I have tried to do it and failed miserably.
My main PC is linked to a router and a HP Photosmart C4280 (Printer to PC and ethernet cable from PC to router).
I am trying to have our 4 additional laptops to connect to the printer remotely and don't know what to do.....PC runs Vista and laptops are mixtures of Vista and XP.....Help in English please.
Many thanks.

You need to share the printer and then make sure you have setup a local network so the laptops can access the printer. The main PC will have to be on for anyone else to be able to print.
Have you shared the printer and do you have a local network setup?0 -
I'm getting there BUT...
"To get ip Windows key and R cmd > ipconfig and it will be displayed"
.....Am ok with windows key and R together (not too sure what you mean by cmd > ipconfig so i have typed "ipconfig", a black screen appeared and went as fast as it came.....

Sounds easy to me as i do it all the time but if you cant follow my apologies
Err, why?
Why not just go to Add Printer, Add Network Printer, search for it and do it that way rather than the needless fannying around you suggest?0
