Borders now 80% off.

I think they're open another 2 days. Got some amazing books today so there are still worthwhile things to be found.

  • Does anybody have any idea what time Borders in Dundee opens tomorrow? Thought I'd see if they had anything left before I went into work.

Managed to buy those True Blood books in Glasgow the other day. Also bought all my christmas cards from paperchase at 75%.
  • Be prepared for some disappointments
I picked out 6 books and when I finally got to the till, they refused to sell 3 of them to me. Apparently they had been recalled :-(
Naturally they were the three main ones.
Make sure you have time to look round, understandably things aren't in order any more

Another one closing I didn't know!

Philip Duffy, Geoff Bouchier and David Whitehouse of MCR have been appointed joint administrators of Borders (UK) Limited ('the Company'). Borders (UK) Limited has 45 stores, 36 trading as Borders and 9 as Books Etc across the UK. The joint administrators are currently working with the Company's management in order to attempt to sell the business as a going concern. The joint administrators are continuing to trade all stores whilst they assess the financial position of the Company. Should you have any questions please email borders@mcr.uk.com in the first instance. The joint administrators act as agents of the Company and without personal liability. Your statutory rights will not be affected.

  • In Glasgow today the shelves were pretty bare, but managed to pick up a new release dvd and cd, a book and a magazine for £15! Total price should have been £45! :) was really pleased, but will be sad to see borders go as I really like that store in town.
Comping Fairy bring some luck my way! :dance:Love my Fiance Spiceboy :happyhear:iloveyou:
