The Guatemalan Families Association (Reg Charity No. 1105241)supports two charities in rural Guatemala. Last year we raised nearly £12000 and that money is being used to fund safer and more fuel efficient stoves, a library, improved sanitation, and school lunches. The small-scale projects have made a huge impact on the communities. For example, the school lunch in a country where over half the children suffer from chronic malnutrition makes a huge difference. It is often their only substantial meal of the day and is a reason for parents to keep their children in school. A healthy daily meal has improved attendance dramatically, as well as health, well being and their capacity to learn.

For all of those who read my thread about an animal charity which was appealing for funds whilst it had 2 year's running costs in the bank, here is an example of a charity which does spend its money. Worth contributing to.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0
