EON doubling monthly DD - but just till March??
I've been paying £100 a month for gas and electricity for 16 months now and got a letter saying I owe £190 and they are increasing my DD to £190 a month.
But I read on another thread that this is just till zero month of March/April.
Is that correct? It's not £190 for the next 12 months?

Hi Tracyk,
The Direct Debit has been reviewed and amended to ensure that when the Direct Debit is reviewed again in the spring you have a zero balance.
The Direct Debit will then (if at zero) be reviewed and amended so it is the amount of your annual usage divided by 12 monthly payments.
This new figure is also repaying the arrears on your account.

Yes, it will be £190 for 12 months, (unless they increase it again)
You have underpaid £190 in 16 months.
So you should have been paying an extra £16, ie £116 a month total.
In spring, even if march, you will have paid an extra £270, (the £90 x 3)
so you owe £190, and the extra £48 (£16 x 3), they're still up by £32.
Make sure they drop it to £120 in April, they certainly won't offer.
I'd phone back and offer £140 a month to be honest, the £16 extra, and £24 to repay ther £190 over 8 months time, and bargain from there.0
