I'm in the process of buying my first house, I have never owned a house before or paid utilities.
From looking at the hips etc the current owner is with Scottish Power for gas and electric, and United Utilities for water.

The house I am buying is a 3 bed terrace. I am single and will be in work during the weekdays. I can't envisage myself using lots of energy, just heating, telly etc.

So can someone please tell me who is the best supplier/tariff for my needs. If its of any use I live in Liverpool.

Thanks

btw if you need anymore info lmk

If it were only as simple as one supplier being the best/cheapest, we'd all be with them:)

Use the comparison sites in the resource bar to see what is best for your individual situation :)

Any idea what is the average pa for a single person?

Is "Using the figures for the ‘average’ user 20500 kWh pa Gas and 3300 kWh pa Electricity" per person or a family of 4?

I'm low user and use around 2000 Kwh electricity , and 10000 Kwh Gas per annum
    gas central heating.
I'd use those figures to punch into a comparison site.
Do you know if its got credit or prepayment meters?
BTW You don't have a choice of water, unless you buy it from Tescos!

O, I think the above is for a family of 4.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

Thanks penrhyn for the figures for a low user.

It won't have prepayment meters installed. I know about the water, and will ask for a water meter to be installed.
