Can anyone help me find out what my parents are entitled to?

Hiya everyone!!
Both my in laws are getting on a bit now, mum has cancer and dad aint doing too well lately, he has pulminary lung disease. I have done the benefits checker on Direct.gov, but it doesn't give me real results that I would expect.
Dad is 75 and mums main carer, mum is 72 and she needs 24 hour assistance and this is running him ragged so I help to look after both of them as best I can, eg help with shopping, housework taking them out for walks etc.
They are both very proud people, as well you can imagine given their age and never ask for anything, but I am starting to think that very soon dad is going to need more help looking after himself too, which I am only more than willing to give. I am more than sure they should be entitled to more than they currently recieve and would really appreciate any further advice on where to go for more information, I have contacted Macmillan and am waiting for an appointment for an advisor to come out.
Thanks in advance all :A

Have you applied for Attendance Allowance, for your Mum and Dad?
Age Concern helped my Step-mum apply for my Dad's AA.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
No, we havent applied for anything yet, just trying to get a feel for what if anything we can maybe claim.
