  • Hi Natweststaffmember,

you state that you can reclaim charges for as long as you held the card? My mum has some that go back about 10 years, but they only supplied the charges for the last 6 years. Any idea how I can get hold of these as I understood that they only keep records for 6 years, therefore we wouldn't know what the charges were?

Also, does this apply to cards closed ie a card closed for 4 years but held for 4 years prior to that? Would we be able to claim all 4 years or just the 2 that makes it up to 6 years? (If you get me, I'm lost too!!)

    thanks xx
Pay off as much as you can in 2011: £780/£8000
    Vouchers through surveys/shopandscan: £10/£250
    Ebay/Paypal target for 2011: £109/£1000

Ask the credit card providers to provide them or if not provide a certificate of destruction as per the Data Protection Act 1998
It applies to closed and open accounts.

    Hi Natty,

Lloyds seem to be playing the evasive game.
i asked them to provide the list of charges for the whole card and i got sent them for the last six years only.

when i questioned this they said that they couldnt give me the rest as they didnt have them. they then mumble something about not knowing what to do and that i was only entilted to the 6 years worth.

what to do next , mention the data protection act? and if they do give a certificate, is this the end of it?

    regards,

    Neil.

Don't TALK to them WRITE to them because when they write it down it is much better :D
Ask them for the remainder of the details and if not then for them to provide a certificate of destruction for the data.
