transferring desktop icons to pc

Thinking of buying new pc. How easy is it to transfer icons from desktop to new pc.

    Sorry, it's not 100% clear what you mean. Which icons are you talking about transfering over to your new PC.

    Sorry guess I wasn't very clear. The icons on the monitor such as Microsoft word, My documents, Windows explorer , Microsoft excel,etc etc . How would I transfer these to my new pc.
  • Normally the default icons are installed when you install the associated programs:

    e.g. When you install Microsoft Word, .doc files get the Microsoft Word Icon.
  • Transferring the icons will do no good.

    You will need to install the progams which the icons access onto the new PC. It is not possible to transfer the programs due to the registry changes and other actions which the install routines make.
