A kitchen fitter usually who is Gas Safe registered and does his own plumbing, or alternatively a kitchen fitter/joiner who subbies out his gas work and plumbing work.

The kitchen fitters I used did the full installation for me. :D

If the cooker isn't moving location the gas isn't an issue as it's a simple plug in job. If it is make sure they are experienced with gas work as it isn't something you wanna risk!

The gas hob would need disconnecting to fit the new sideboard , and reconnecting once fitted aand i believe that needs doing by a gas safe engineer , by law

Any drcent kitchen fitter will have subbies that do the gas and stuff.
Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.
  • If it has a bayonet fitting, a 3 year old could do it.

I had a feeling fixed hobs had to have fixed pipework these days rather than flexible gas hoses? At least that's how ours is installed and seems like a better idea than a rubber hose.

Still most kitchen fitters if they can't do all the parts of the job themselves will know someone who can. Just don't let carpenter's do the plumbing..which is what happened in my case - i learnt a few valuable lessons from that experience!

Incidentally electrical work in the kitchen will be part-p notifiable ...so if there's any electrical work you'll also require an electrician who can self-certify

If it was me i'd do as much as i could legally do myself (including plumbing), gas fitter for fixed pipework to the hob (and test hob!), electrician for notifiable electrics (though i'd get the cable monkey bits done myself) and maybe a chippie if the worktops require joins. Bit of juggling required to get the right trade at the right time without treading on each others toes. I'd rather have a bit of control over the choice of tradesemen to get the best possible job.

My kitchen fitter did everything, then put me in touch with a gas guy who came round one afternoon and connected the hob and oven!
