Would you do it?

Just had this through for an item on Buy It Now which ends on Sunday but has 2 watchers on it

"I would really like to purchase this item but do not get paid until Thursday next and would be paying by Postal Order. Could you possibly allow me to purchase it and I will send the Postal Order out first thing next Thursday morning by recorded delivery. I would like to do this as a birthday present for my mum.
Many thanks"

Well, they've gone to the trouble to carefully explain why they would be making a late(ish) payment.

Unless it's a very expensive item I'd say go for it.

But then I haven't anything to lose!

I would say no. Maybe just maybe if they had a good feedback rating I would chance it.

Is it a low/high value item?

I see nothing wrong with what this buyer has done. She is very honest to have contacted you and explained. She could have just bought the item and kept you waiting until she got paid and then sent the PO.

I had a similar experience but with a more expensive item and I'm glad to say everything turned out ok. I listed the item on the 18th with a BIN of £70 and £25 postage (very heavy item). Almost immediately I got a message through ebay from a potential buyer saying she really wants it but won't get paid until the 29th. I didn't mind. She kept in contact, sent me a cheque on the 27th (dated the 29th), I banked it, waited for it to clear, sent the item and we both left each other glowing feedback.

Sorry for the long post but I just wanted to say follow your instincts and if you feel she's genuine go ahead and tell her to bid. Good luck.
    I  this site!!!

I'd agree, but make it clear that the payment has to be received by the monday/tuesday.
