Hi,
All checked and all fine!
In the spirit of Moneysaving, is everyone aware that some (if not all) fire services in England will come and supply and fit your smoke detectors free of charge?
Also, I think this video from KFB is fab.....

Did mine a couple of weeks back as one had gone a bit suspect, changed that one and put new back up batteries in the others (mine are mains interlinked ones)Adventure before Dementia!0

Haven't checked mine today (ceilings too high and OH usually gets up the ladder once a fortnight to check). But the fact we have guests over at the mo with new cooking methods we know full well they are working lol as they seem to set them off every time they cook, haha!
We have 2, one new combi - carbon monoxide and smoke, and then a normal smoke alarm. I think people forget how essential both are!
I had a friend who's other half was desperate to play with a new RC toy but the only battery he could find was in the smoke alarm - guess what, yes he took it out and used it and she'd constantly nagg him to put it back in the alarm and stop being so lazy. I thought my she was joking when she told me.
She was also the same friend who had a carbon monoxide leak in a rented house - nearly killed the lot of them over a period of a week. They all became lethargic, headaches, nose bleeds etc until someone told them maybe it was CM leak. Scary stuff!Mummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0 -
Just as a side note .... being a firefighter the advice is to check your smoke alarm EVERY WEEK !!
You are statistically almost 50% more likely to have a fire at this time of year ... very scary.
Please be safe and take car with cooking, electrics and DRINKING!

Both mine where automatically checked on Saturday following the redecoration of the hall. I had to alter and solder a bit of pipework for a new radiator. :beer:0

Do it every Sunday morning when I pick up the Sunday papers because I have convinced myself I'm not allowed to read them until I do the check with a broom handle.................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)
