You dont need the form - I rang up to report a change of circs and they took the Review details from me over the phone at the same time and told me you could do it over the phone anyway.
    HTH
  • I agree with Honey - I renewed mine over the phone too. I was dubious about doing it this way but it was straightforward and I received my Award Notice within a few days.
  • It's also possible to fill the form in online, but in my experience they seem just as likely to lose or mess up the data however they're presented to them, so I don't think doing it by phone is any more risky.

Tax Credits don't take details online anymore due to fraud. But they will take the details for the renewal form over the phone. HTH
P.S. if you are worried about them making a mistake keep a note of time/date & details of call so you can request they pull up their recording of the call if you have any problems
  • Do they actually record all the phone calls? The recorded message at the start says some calls will be recorded, so I thought they'd just record a random sample.

As long as their computer systems are working correctly (lol good one) all calls are recorded. One good reason for calling back another time if they say the systems are down. hth

ALL calls are recorded regardless of whether the computers are down.

The only time the calls wouldnt be recorded would be when the telephone system is down.....and then you wouldnt get through anyway :-)

I understood (insider info ssh!) that the calls were recorded by the computer so I thought that if the systems were down there wouldn't be a record of the call.

If the Tax Credit computers are down, then there may not be a record of the call showing on the system, however the call is still saved.
