Every few days, when I try and go onto Firefox, I get an alert "Close Firefox. Firefox is already running but is not responding. To open a new window you must first close the existing firefox process or restart your computer."
Firstly, Firefox ISN'T running and secondly, even if it was, surely I can open more than one window??

Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth.

This has always been a Firefox for as long as I can remember. Firefox doesn't shut down properly.
I'm using the test version of Firfox 2 and its much better - has only happened once since I changed when a page locked everything up.
It's very easy to fix:
right-click the taskbar and launch the Task Manager.
Click the Processes tab, find Firefox.exe and End Process.
give it a few seconds and then you should be able to launch Firefox0 -
Hey sra, what do you think of firefox 2 and do they need beta testers. Or, to put another way, how did you get hold of it?:j0

Have fun but understand that alpha and beta software are not release quality and you may have problems, so don't blame Mozilla if strange things happen.

Bone Echo Alpha 3 (The codename for the latest test build of Firefox 2) is very stable. You really have to use the default theme as the rest haven't caught up. Scroll down to the bottom of that page for the downloads
To use your extensions you need to use this:

Most will work using that without a hitch0 -
Is it possible to install both the latest nightly and the latest stable release (which I have currently installed) or do I have to chose one or the other?? I'd like to try out the nightly without destroying my existing setup.0

I don't know about the latest nightly, but Bon Echo installs seperately and you can use it at the same time as Firefox 1.5. That's probably the reason they call it by the codename Bon Echo rather that Firefox 2 - So it doesn't get mixed upgarcia wrote:Is it possible to install both the latest nightly and the latest stable release (which I have currently installed) or do I have to chose one or the other??
