Lining behind rads

Options
Recently saw this in B&Q. Big roll of what looks like aluminium foil which you cut and stick behind the radiator. It reflects heat.

Wondering if anyone had this and if it's effective. Very cheap but curious as to how effective it is.. Any experience?

Thx

I've used this myself, is it the bubble wrap type?
I doubt it is very effective though, since most heat from radiators is convected.
Still you'll keep warm from the exercise involved in fitting it.
That gum you like is coming back in style.
  • This sounds good in theory but I just wonder.... if fitting reflective foil to walls increased efficiency of radiators, then why don't radiator manufacturers fit it directly to the back of the rear radiant panel or convector fins?

Radiators should be painted black as well!

Its alu foil with polystrene and stickyback to put behind your radiators - Its on the wall of our living room behind the radiators (3) - every little helps keep the heat in the room - not the walls.
