DSLR Cleaning Disaster

Hi,
I tried to clean the sensor on my beloved Nikon D50 DSLR, I bought a proper kit but have still managed to make hash of it and it is marked and scratched to hell  I am gutted and feel like a proper plank.
Could I make a claim under the accidental damage cover of my contents insurance. I appreciate that it really unlikely that I would be successful in my claim but is it at least worth a try?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi there
Unfortunately, "cleaning" is one of the exclusions from Accidental Damage cover do you would not be able to claim. I suggest you get in touch with your local camera & photography club and ask if there is someone who can help.In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0
