Ok I confess I am a Diet Coke addict
No seriously I get through bottles of the stuff, which is not doing me any good or the purse strings as its so expensive!! SO one of my many new years resolutions is not to buy any bottles or cans of it, if somebody brings a bottle round then thats fine, or if we are out a glass is ok, but I am going to wean myself off the stuff and save at least a £2 a day.
I have also been counting up my loose change jar and have bagged up £21 of coins and have run out of bags, so when I go to PO to pay CCCS on 2nd Jan I will put this in my PO account, its better to put coppers in there as they dont care how many bags you have and you cant just get the money out you have to request a cheque, so when it has built up again I will get a cheque and use it to offer a full and final settlement of one of my debts:D
I also found all of my old holiday notes left over and according to PO website they all come to a total of £53.25 so I will get that changed up and added to my account, so by the 2nd Jan this is how it looks
Post office account
Starting balance £ 1.25
Foreign money £ 53.25
Coppers £ 21.00
Total £ 75.50
Not a bad start for the first day of the year:D
My target to pay off the 10k this year is £16.44 a day on top of what I already pay to CCCS so that is already 4.5 days worth without even trying lol!
I have also sorted out my budget and things will be really tight but if I can stick to it I should have an extra £300 ish to add to the pot, things have started off well:D
Im off now to find more items for ebay, amazon and greenmetropolis.com catch you all later£23366/ £39206.92 DFD Nov 20160 -

A fellow diet coke addict! I'm one too and even though I usually buy them on deal I still spend too much on it, but can't seem to give it up

You're sounding really positive and I'll be looking forward to reading your diary! :j

Dear Candyblue,
Welcome and well done for taking your life by the horns and saying no to bad things! Last year was a good year for me. I lost a stone for my wedding and £3K of debt. I also re-educated myself in budgeting and not living beyond my means.
I have subscribed to your diary and hope to stay in touch to offer support.
Here's a few diet tips which also save you money!
- Learn to cook healthy, and stop buying ready made crap in the supermarket. Buying veg and natural foods costs alot less ad is good for you. You WILL loose weight from this. I joined slimming world last year just to get the menus and it really does work, because it's all natural healthy food. Here's what I ate:
Lean mince and mashed spuds = home made shephards pie
Quorn sausage, beans, wholemal toasts, eggs = english breakfast
Pasta with Passata instea of expensive pasta sauces
- Herbal teas and sugar free squash - forget sugary nasty juices and fizzy drinks - Your teeth will literally fall out if your not careful and it's sooo bad for you.
- Use your wee fit every day and do a food diary every night.
- Cut your portions in half. I got used to having big portions (as big as my hubby) and he is 6 foot 2 and 16 stone. Not good. Think small, low fat and regular.
- Make home made soups and smoothies - great for your digestion.
- Cut out fatty spreads, sugar, oils from your diet - you could save 200 cals a day.
I've got plenty more tips where they came from! You will have to forgive me, I'm a bit of a health addict.
This year I'm starting a fertility diet (detox) and trying to pay off my credit card (£3,000) and start paying off my loan (£8,000). If you need to chat I'm here!

Hi Candyblue,
All the best for 2010.
I've just come back from my dad's and was about to drink some diet coke, when he gave me an article he had on aspartame, which is the sweetener used.
Apparently, one of his friends was addicted to diet coke and lost 2 stone just by cutting it out.
It has been linked to weight increase and MS/Lupus like diseases in the US, it certainly was a thought provoking read.
I'm with J_pink, ditch the coke. xI learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -
Thanks everyone for stopping by and visiting my diary.
Thanks Pink for the support you never know I may be asking advice later on, congrats on your loss and your wedding, hope your fertility diet goes well.
Well I have finished getting the rest of the DDs transferred across to our joint account and when I spoke to my waterboard they told me we dont have to make a payment in Feb or March so that will be an extra £106!! Yippee I can also throw that at the debt aswell£23366/ £39206.92 DFD Nov 20160 -
