2010 - Its my year!!!

I have decided that 2010 will be my year!!

I currently have 29k of debt, I have been paying off £330 for the last 3 years through CCCS and I feel like I`m getting nowhere! I hit 30 this year and have decided I really don’t like my life much and it’s time for me to sort it out!

Having hit 30 I have decided I desperately want to start a family, I can’t do this with all this debt hanging over me, and also I need to lose about 8 stone.
So this year I am determined to not only sort out my finances, but sort myself out, stop being depressed and lose weight as well, all in all a busy year for me.
I am determined to get my debts down by at least 10k, an extra £500 a month on top of what I am already paying, this wouldn’t be as bad but for the first 3 months I can’t spare any money as anything extra I make has to go towards me going to my sister’s wedding in March, I can’t get out of it, I`m bridesmaid my parents are paying for me to go(its abroad) I just have to find the spending money etc, none of my family know about my debts so no way I can get out of it, but obviously I will be spending as little money as possible.
So I am going to record my years diary here, I hope people will read it and enjoy it, I will try and update regularly and hopefully people may be able to get some ideas from me and vice versa.

  • Well only a few days to go of this year so I have started preparing ready for MY year. We have opened up a joint account, only been together 8 years! All the household bills come out of there, saving us about a tenner on paperless billing. At least then once Ive been paid I know all the money in my account is min,and then hopefully will be able to pay more off debts.

I have also been looking through my things to see what I can put on ebay, I will list 5 items a day in the new year, I am also nearly at £10 on poshbingo, then I can withdraw that and I have £60 pending in my topcashback account, so Im still feeling positive for the new year.

Do you do the £10 a day challenge - lots of ideas on there for getting extra money in which will go a long way towards your desired £500 a month.

    Good luck!!

  • Well last night and again tonight i have been clearing up ready for Christmas and I have so far found about 20 things that can go on eBay in the new year:D

I have also found about 30 books to list on Greenmetropolis.com, I will also once all presents are wrapped be doing an inventory of the present cupboard so I can get ready for the sales, I will be seeing if I can get a load of 20p wrapping paper again from Homebase, I buy the plain so it can be used all year round.

I think this may be my last update before Xmas as I am so busy now:eek: but next week I will be putting my final plans in place ready for the new year ready for 2010

Merry Christmas everyone, i hope santa brings you all useful and lovely presents

  • Well I hope everyone had a fab Xmas, I was well and trully spoilt, I was bought a Wii, something I have wanted for ages but would never justify having bought for myself, its fab and its part of my master plan to help me lose weight aswell.

I have a few more things to list on eBay although its not really the right time of year but they are quite expensive items so you never know, they include a Babyliss men hair cutting system and a phillips electric shavor.

I have also joined up for January £10 a day challenge as I worked it out as needing to find an extra £17 a day on top of my payments to CCCS.

I am still doing poshbingo each day whilst logged onto computer, I need to win another £1.05 so I can withdraw my first £10, also am still waiting for £60 cashback on quidco, but its taking a long time, so not sure if it will be paid or not, I do hope so.

Later I must get onto looking into cheaper car insurance as mine expires on 4th Jan and its gone up loads :(

  • Well I feel quite depressed now, have just spent the last hour sorting out my wardrobe, I havent been able to shut the dorrs for about three years.

The wardrobe is now full of brand new clothes with tags on in a range of 4 sizes:eek: OMG I didnt buy all of them, was given some of them but still just shows where my money used to go, I suppose now it helps give me even more incentive to slim down as I have a brand new wardrobe waiting for me.

I wonder what else I will find in the rest of the BIG clean up of our bedroom:o

  • How strange! Must be the day for it, cos I have just cleared four bin bags of stuff from my room. Most of it not even fit for the recycling bins. Still, my room is becoming the haven I have been waiting for someone else to create for me!

To top it off, I have located a lost Croc, a lost childs slipper, and have binned cosmetic bottles/lotions/potions that were out of date when we moved in two and a half years ago. A good day.
