Bean Cube Innards

Hi

Someone bought me a lovely bean cube cover for christmas that matches my sofas, but its just a cover no insides.

Can anyone tell me what goes inside, can I just put the insides from an ordinary bean bag in, or do I need a specially shaped one?

Thanks

AFAIK you can put the beans straight inside, just remember NEVER to open the zip too far or the electrified beans will leap out all over your lounge!

I think you can buy the beans on the market, certainly saw them on the fabric stall a few years ago. Get plenty as they disintegrate over time.

If you think you are likely to want (or need!) to wash the cover then making a cover for inside would be a good idea. I don't think it would have to be a particularly good 'fit' or special shape: I saw a pattern years ago which was basically a regular hexagon top and bottom with long hexagons for the sides (basically long diamonds with the sharp ends cut off!)

I don't know if that makes sense but hope it helps!

PS just seen you may already have a bean bag you could 'recycle' but I think what I said above applies. If you are transferring from one bag to another the beans do tend to go all over the place so if you can spare an old bag to just pop inside the new one that would be simpler!

  • Thank you... I shall have a look at the market in the week.

I've made the beans all over the living room mistake before, just as bad as pine needles they linger for years!

    ;D ;D ;D

Making a large tube from cardboard and fixing it in place with rubber bands at both ends may help. but persuading the beans from one bag to another is a great game - I remember watching my friend playing it!
