You would have to put a lot on it as they usually pre-authorise a couple of thousand pounds.

Yes perfectly possible, the retailer normally "reserves" the hire cost + £60 - £70 for a tank of fuel.

The hire cost is then fully debited at the end of the hire, and the reserve is credited back to the account within 10-14 days

thanks not having a credit card too tempting i though a pre pay would be the best does any one know which company is the best for these thanks

Best one seems to be https://www.mycashplus.co.uk , is FSA regulated and issued by a "U.K" bank.

Lots of other "pre-pay" cards seem to of come and gone, but this one is probably the most "trustworthy"
