Welcome loan, not sure about PPI

I currently have a loan with Welcome Finance. Problem with claiming mis-sold PPI is that I do not know when the original loan was taken out or if there even is/was PPI cover included. Please help. My current financial situation is dire, therefore any help would be very much appreciated.

    Hi there

Give them a ring first and see what they have to say.....on the dates and account numbers.

If not then another way to retrieve everything on your account is to request a SAR (Subject Access Request) they have 40 days to comply, with a charge of £10 postal order or cheque payment, SAR template letter here on link with details:

Post by recorded delivery for your proof of posting.

Then on reclaiming, guidelines with template letters here below, again post by recorded delivery and keep at them until you receive a final response, they have 8 weeks in full to respond.

Good luck, please keep us posted, and ask for help anytime.;)

If your loan is still current then you could ring them (or write to them) and ask for a copy of the agreement. Sometimes they can charge you £1 for this but some don't. Maybe better to write and enclose a cheque or postal order for £1 and ask for a copy to be sent out (if they refuse in the phone call and its also a definate way of retreiving it). Its quicker than the sar as they have to provide it within 12 days.

    Good luck

As Marshallka said, it is quicker to request for the agreement where they just have 12 days, the agreement should enclose details of the loan and ppi.;)

The SAR is handy if you do require further information/paperwork, but the quickest method is that of just requesting the agreement alone.

Fingers crossed they will also give you details just by ringing them, and they may be good enough and lenient enough to send your agreement free of charge, but if not just ask them for the account number details and write a short letter with the £1 payment (cheque or postal order), and tell them you look forward to receiving this by 12 days of your request.

    Good luck.

You can actually continue to reclaim if you just have the account number details, if they give you these on the phone and confirm you had ppi, then go for it, they may even then send the agreement enclosed with their first response which then should be free.;)

  • Welcome Car Finance is mine, I called their Maidstone branch and a nice young man sent me my credit agreement free of charge in the post, I bought a car with my partner in November 2006, we were told the day before that if we made our way to Maidstone from Hastings they would refund our travel (we were very broke at the time having just moved house), they never mentioned a deposit etc, just to bring ID. so on the day they mentioned this PPI, i said no thanks dont want it, job safe, blah blah blah, they said if i didnt the deposit would be much higher, ermm what deposit, i was then forced to hand over a cheque of £350 (and coudl barely afford it, but couldnt get home) and was told no PPI then no car, shocking, anyway i have put in template letter 1 and after a questionnaire coming throuhg from Welcome asking me to fill it in, all i have had is a letter saying we are investigating your case and to be patient, they havent said no, but their 8 weeks were up on 17th dec 2009 - what shall i do???
