Olympic Countdown aka clear those debts by July 2012!

Hi
I haven't posted on the challenge thread for a while, well done to everyone for keeping going....had a few months with horrible expenses (mostly vehicle related) so my debt busting has been much poorer than I would have liked but today's total is £14,400 which I think is slightly less than I last reported. I have realised becoming debt-free by summer 2012 is nigh on impossible but will keep plodding on to try and get the figures down as much as I can.

Congratulations to everyone making big inroads.
I've made some reasonably large payments this month but i've also had a lot of house moving costs so unfortunately zero overall debt movement from me this month

Hi Dragon and olympic contenders
On the 1st of july an amount of £83.16 was added to my loan balance, taking the current balance up to £5137.28.
The lender said this is interest which is debited to the account twice a year, on the 1st of July and 1st of January each year. Apparently this does not affect anything because the 172.94 i'm paying each month includes this interest, so im not sure if it will affect the percentages here dragon.
I'm making the August payment (3rd one) of 172.94 by dd so new balance when ddcomes out after midnight tonight will be £5137.28-£172.94 = £4964.34Directloan:Feb2011 - £4152.64
Olympic contender 107, DFD Dec 2011:eek:Ex NSDer, now proudly on track, thanks to Solvent Soon and The Madhouse Gang:TNo CC debtsall paid off and plan to keep it that way:j.

Nice to have you back Dragon. :T
In July I have paid £872.61 bringing my total paid at the end of July up to £7,024.63
I have passed the 25% marker, so I am well happy with that. It's good to know on the right track to complete the challenge, if I can keep going at the same pace.
Good to see some of you have bashed some more Credit Cards on the head - well done to all so far.Mortgage

Any room for a new olympic contender?
I have yet to do the 'adding up' of the debt, but am already aware that it exceeds £10,000. Buying a house which needed significant updating has caused the problem, but now I need to face up to the challenge and start making inroads to getting it cleared. Welcome claremylove. Dragon will be along in a bit to give you a number, but it would be helpful to know an actual target.
Mortgage payment and overpayments have been credited to the account, so revised amount paid off is £3,051.21Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -
Thank you clearing out my pockets
I will be busy finding out the true total within the next few days. IN the meantime, I await my number from Dragon.
