I.F & SAR request returned

I applied online for a £9000 loan in 2003, but then I consoidated in 2005 and moved it elsewhere.
Had SAR request details back from IF, and amid the 200+ sheets of A4, I can find no where where I specifically signed anything agreeing to PPI. The main sheet which I had to sign and return only required 1 signature from me, and did not mention that it was a confirmation of acceptance for the PPI, although the the PPI was mentioned further up the sheet. It said I had asked for PPI, and that I should sign the direct debit mandate from Pinnacle Insurance to allow them to take the premiums, but a copy of this mandate was not included with the SAR. And I don't ever recall signing anything to say..."Yes! i want the PPI!" If I did, they didnt include it.
My gripe is that the box was pre-ticked when I applied on the website, and I was not asked to confirm whether I wanted the PPI, nor sent details with my welcome pack either. At no point did anyone from from IF contact me to explain the PPI and find out if I would be eligible. I know this as there is a log of all telephone calls and the toppic of said calls included in the SAR details.
Should I pursue.....?

Hi Jon, yes of course go for it, and keep at them.
If you have not started the process at all yet, below is the link to the guidelines of reclaiming and templates etc, you can use the templates to help you along with this if you want to or as a guide and also write in your reasons which you have done above and any more that may apply to you in the checklist on the link below, keep at them until you receive a final response.
They have 8 weeks in full to respond.
