We have been in touch with Boots and it has said the 75% off sale will not start tomorrow.
It has not yet confirmed when the sale will start, but as soon as it does we'll let you know.
Hope this helps,
MSE Deborah
Thanks for this official line Deborah. Boots wouldn't lie to MSE staff surely? Thanks to everyone else for keeping me (and others) in the loop too. I booked the day off tomorrow, too late to cancel now so will have to book next week off too!0 -

Is it a centrally operated computer system though? so the prices wouldnt go live till the nationwide day anyway. The only hope would be arguing that was signs are up you should get 75% but Im sure they would quickly pull them down after the first customer argued it. And theres always the arguement that as its a removeable sign and not a sticker on the actual item they dont have to honour it anyway.0 -

Even if they have a sign or misprice an item they have no legal obligation sell it to you at that price. Basic contract law of offer and acceptance, you make an offer to buy it when you take it to the till and they can reject that if they realise that it's priced incorrectly - it only becomes a legal binding contract when you have paid for the goods*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*No new toiletries challenge - use up the stash first!NSD Jan 2/150 -
I dont think boots would lie to customers as we all like a good bargain and they know that us bootsers will wait to get that extra special price if we have to - I am going to bluewater anyway tomorrow so will have a look, got some gift vouchers to spend and prob will use my points, if I see anything that I need, if not I will wait it out for the 75% off saleComp wins 2013:160 finish quantum tabs, 2xtickets private screening of prisoners(Jake n Hugh 2)

Guessing Mr B has not hit his usual sale targets for this time of year, along with deliveries being delayed, things have probably not had the chance to sell at 50% with everyone staying indoors. I wonder if there is any sale stuff still on its way to stores. I know my local seemed to find extra from somewhere last year. We may still be in luck next week....0

Oh really? I thought that if it was actually written on the item then it had to be sold for that price. I worked in a high street store as a part time supervisor so this would come in very handy when someone is arguing against an item mispriced in the sale!!!!!!!! Ive always allowed it if the item is physically priced incorrectly but not if its a removeable price label.0 -

I think Queen of no matter what is correct, I was watching a lawyer explain this very thing on tv last week and was also very surprised.0 -
My local (the huge Boots in Belfast city centre) said that they had no idea when the 75% off sale was starting!!!
I went in to pick up my 50% sale order. Very happy with it... lots of S&G goodies (goodness, the Shower House box is bigger than I remember, and the Plane Jane bag is GORGEOUS), a Frontcover Inky Eyes set for £6 (wish I'd ordered 3!) and a couple of Celia Birtwell things. Fab!!!!!!!!
Note to anyone lurking from the 'no more toiletries' thread - these purchases were made on Christmas Eve and cannot be counted against me for the purposes of the challenge!!!! :rotfl: I even returned half of what I'd ordered for a refund as I realised I didn't really want it and my gift stash is big enough already, so go me. £30 richer too, oh I like this challenge :beer:Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Some stores do honour it, but they have no legal obligation to do so, if you pay for the item and then they realise it's their tough luck, but up to that point they have not formed a contract with you.*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*No new toiletries challenge - use up the stash first!NSD Jan 2/150
