For someone whose never had Sat Nav before is this a good starting point or are there better cheaper 'starter' models on the market? Thanks in advance.--- Warning: Grumpy Old Man in Training ---0

You can buy a myguide gps from ebuyer.com for £43 and then load tomtom onto it (google for instructions). Had one for a while now with no problems.0

I have just had a look at the ebuyer and I'm interested in buying a gps off here for my husband. The TomTom I bought him the year before last only lasted just over a year before it broke. (Just long enough that I couldn't take it back!)
Anyway, please can you tell where I would get the TomTom download from and how much it would be?Nerd No. 12452014 Challenges:Attempting to snowball to freedom!0 -
This looks like the TT my MIL was using last weekend, bloody annoying as it didn't take postcodes and the simple address finder was:-
Town -> Street -> Number
You can't just say street and it lists them, or enter a postcode0 -
how does that work if theres 2 streets in a town with the same name? Can the settings be changed to take postcodes? ive just reserved one i might not bother now.0

Just reserved the last one of these in my local Argos, thanks OP.0

if you download update you will have full potcode search
Has the update been released? Google says it was due end of November but I can't see anything else.
To me as it was, it made the unit very annoying to use, especially as I knew the postcode I had to send her off to by heart. I can't comment on the navigation aspect as I sent the MIL off on her way home0 -
Thanks for that! I am very happy as I was planning on buying the XL model for my oh.
And when you do a comparison of products, it has everything you want from a SatNav in the UK.. including speed camera wanrnings... which most of the other models no longer have Or you have to sucribe for it!
Hope you have a happy xmas! First baby born 10/06/10:heartpuls 6lb 10z:heartpulsI love my little family0
