Jessops price match promise....

Always known that Jessops price match but have heard tales of certain shops refusing.

Today saw a poster n my local jessops window guaranteeing to price match on digital cameras and camcorders AND knocking a further 10% off.

Item has to be in stock at both locations and not be discontinued, sale items etc etc. You have to give them a UK phone number so they an check stock, price etc.

So basically if you are looking for a new camera or camcorder check out where you can get it and at what price (inc p&p) then buy it from your local Jessops minus a further 10%.

Especially handy for those still concerned about buying online.

If matching an online price, it has to be a UK retailer (excludes jersey & guernsey).

Did it say they will now price match online retailers as they had withdrew that a few months back and only pricematched local competetors within 10 miles or so.

I actually was in my local Jessops today, and specifically asked them whether they price match at all (want an Olympus sp 700 badly and cheaply). Anyway assistant manager told me that no they don't match online retailers at all, he said he can see for price it is on their website though

I got them to match an Amazon price on my digi camera. They weren't too sure whether they should do it tho. In the end the manager said ok, but I got the impression they'd had a slow day and he was keen to get a sale, and the fact that I had cash in my pocket seemed to help as well.

  • I've had them match amazon twice in the past for digi cameras.. then persuaded them to knock a bit more off the price.

I think it may be down to the decision of whoever you talk to / the manager in that store.. There's nothing to loose by trying another jessops if they don't match what you want.

It was a big red poster in the front window and specifically said online and offline

    It said something like.....

"if you can find it anywhere in stock and a UK model we will give you 110% of the difference if you buy it from us"

    HTH

I was refused an Amazon price after they checked with the manager, but I guess it depends on what the manager thinks is ok or not.

There were details of the price match in an advert in yesterdays Sun, they will price match a local competetor within 20 miles and refund 110% of the difference, no where did it mention matching internet prices, they used to a few months back but was stopped by head office.

Hi - I found sending an e-mail through Jessops online store was productive; I supplied a web link to one of their competitors (found using Froogle) and the stance of the Jessops guy I was in contact with was as folows:

"Looking at the price match for at £295.00 at bristol cameras i have had
a look for and i would be able to do it for you at that price However i
can only do that here at mail order as our stores no longer do price
    matches."

So it seems there is some capacity to pricematch the internet. This was in May by the way.
