I cancelled my halifax card at the start of dec as they 10% on purchases had run out and I had no use for it anymore. I am still a halifax customer, have various accounts with them, each time I log in now, I am offered a halifax CC with 12 month 0% on purchases. When I asked in branch yesterday they thought I wouldn't be eligible as I only closed the old one in dec, what do you guys think? :rolleyes:

You could try the application if you want but I would probably wait a month or two before applying for it.

Also applying in branch is better as the credit search isnt as strict as it is online (for fraud reasons) and also the adviser can do an early check to see if they
credit card would be offered which doesn't leave a big as footprint as a full credit search.

With the Halifax, it's 30 days before you can apply again as a new customer.

I can confirm what tipsy said. I cancelled a Halifax card and a month later new preapproved offers appeared on Internet banking. I applied and was accepted!

thanks guys. I actually tried this already, and have been accepted for 12 months 0% on purchases and with double the limit I had last time :j
