Excel advice wanted

I am using Office 2007 version of Excel. Is there a way to copy the formatting (headings, alignments etc) from one set of cells to another?

Any advice appreciated, thank you.

Does Copy & Paste not do what you need? If not try 'Paste Special...'.

    Thanks for your reply.

Copy & Paste copies the headings but not the formatting, ie column widths, alignments etc.

Will go and hunt for Paste Special.

    Much appreciated.

I don't know about 2007, but in earlier versions it copies formatting and alignments. Copying of column width only seems to work if you copy and paste entire columns.

Paste Special is definitely what you need. Copy the cells, and right-click on the destination cell to get the menu

The little paint brush thingy in the taskbar at the top is a format painter. Go to the cell you want to copy the formats from and press the paint brush, then highlight all the cells you want to format in the same way by holding down the left mouse button, let go and voila! :D

It's the Format Painter you need, as per maxtweenie's advice above...
