Hello everyone a010.gif. Welcome to the weekly spend challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.

On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track.

This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever. clapping.gif

Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her around last year

The challenge is about incidental spending and not for stuff that should be budgeted elsewhere such as bills, groceries, debt repayment etc but you decide what to include at the end - this is about changing your habits and improving your recording of your spends more than anything else. Have a great week everyone and keep it low!!! Moozie x

Good luck everyone.:T

  • Morning all,

It is another cold day here in Glasvegas. I was green for last week not sure how much by. I am going for £30 this week as that is what I have left from my weekend budget plus £20. This should be quite easy as I am only working until Wednesday and then should not really have much opportunity to spend.
    Weekly Spend Challenge: £0/£30

  • I should be honest and admit I was £25 over budget so actually spent about £45!!
Budget this week is £0 which will be hard when I get paid on Tuesday but I am on lates all week so shouldn't have time to go to the shops!

Hello. Have been under budget for two weeks now - fab.:money:

Do not need anything this week - finish work on Thursday lunchtime - so only three and a half days to go. Have everything in the house so can sort out lunches etc - am going for a drink tomorrow lunchtime - but only ever have blackcurrant - which costs about 30p.

Right .. I have £1.60 in my purse - and that is it for me - so please put me down for £1.60. It's going to be tough.:rotfl:

    Good luck everyone.

  • Thanks Pointy for the new thread :)

ok, so I failed yet again this week, spent £20 :( ho hum.

I think I will try £15 again next week to see if I can get myself back into good saving shape!
  • Afternoon all,

I have been out for a rather disappointing lunch but I had £10 voucher for the restaurant and also I won £10 on the lottery so it didn't really cost me anything. So no spends to report so far.

We have had more snow here so I have also been for a walk in the park which was nice but cold.

    Morning all,

I came in under budget last week, so green for me. I've noticed a worrying trend of all my money disappearing at the weekends, so from now on I shall do this challenge from Sunday to Saturday to keep me in line!

I have £10 on me, only 4 days at work and nothing that I need to get before Christmas, so that's my budget for this week.

    Merry Christmas Everybody :T xxx

Edit - Woo Hoo! Day Two down and my tenner is still intact. Have a dentist appt at 5pm which will cost £25, but that's from another budget. Yay!

  • Morning all,

Only two more working days until Xmas for me:j:j

I checked my purse last night to discover that I have spent £13  on food and lunch etc. (basically wasted :o) but I should be ok as I am not counting over Xmas so only a couple of days to go.

I hope the rest of you are doing well and feeling festive.
