Am I entitled to a refund for a sofa that was delivered faulty ?

I recently bought a sofa from Furniture Village,. When delivered it was faulty, however, they have sent their technician round and he says that it is 'within manufactureres parameters.' I have a letter from them apologising that it is not perfect and that they acknowledge my dissapointment, but are not going to do anything.

I have jumped up and down a bit and the store manager is coming to have a look at it. My question is, can I just say that I do not want it because it is faulty? I'm being caused so much hastle by their lax customer service, I just want to cut my losses and get rid of it.

I paid a deposit for the sofa, the rest is then to be paid off over 12months on interest free credit - what I want to do is cancel the agreement and get my deposit back? The item is faulty, so I cannot see why this should be an issue. The manager is coming round this afternoon, so I'd like to be fully armed so to speak.

I would say, if it is faulty, then yes (as reported on delivery that was in a reasonable time to report the fault and reject the sofa). If it isn't faulty, i.e. as technician says, then no. But be nice to the manager, and he might be nice to you!
