Anyone know anything about running 2 monitors on a Macbook?

Thinks this would make my life a lot easier as I need to see two screens at once at the moment? Is this easy to do and do I need to buy a special Mac monitor or can I use an old PC one (just had a look and not sure the connections will fit)?? Many thanks :-)

If it's a VGA-only monitor then you might need a (mini) DVI-VGA adapter.0

depending on the model of the macbook, you will need a mini-DVI to VGA or DVI (depending on your monitor).
there are different versions of connection on the macbook itself depending on the age of your macbook. you can find the correct adapter on the apple website.
i bought my last one off of an ebay seller in china tho, as buying from apple is rather overpriced. just make sure it's a high rated seller and the listing says "genuine"

also - if it's a pre-unibody macbook pro it should have a DVI connection anyway, so then you just need any old DVI to VGA converter0

I got it this year so presume I need an adapter. Is it sure to work though (the PC monitor is maybe 4 years old)? BTW thanks for advise, seems a shame to leave a nice big PC monitor in the attic.0
