Had Rockwool cavity wall insulation done over 20 years ago. It has never caused any damp or condensation at all, and made the house very much warmer.0

We put it in when we built the house 32 years ago. No problems whatsoever.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -

We had some issues with condensation damp in secluded corners (poor air circulation) but having the insulation done has almost completely got rid of it - the walls aren't as cold so they aren't causing condensation.Adventure before Dementia!0

Similar to the last post, the CWI solved some condensation in corners behind wardrobes etc.
Had Rockwool insulation pumped in a couple of year ago. No problems, no dampness, less condensation (though we still get some condensation around the bedroom windows in winter..but no different to before). Noticeable savings in the gas bill, feels cosier, reduces external noise (not that we have much in our quiet road). Would highly recommend!

I'll not bore with a long horror story so here is the short version.
Parents had this arranged with the local company who did the majority of the work in our area. They were subcontractors for a major national company.
They came to an 'inner' wall which used to be an outter wall within the house. They wanted to fill this with the insulation so drilled through this wall from the kitchen side (the other side was the shower room).
So the hole went through the wall and they started to pump their insulation into the wall. All seemed fine until.......... somebody opened the door to the shower room.......which by now was full of insulation material. It was everywhere and the actual shower cubicle was full of it.
So, to keep this story short, they were kicked out of the house after being made to clear up and also had to send somebody round to replace the tiles they had smashed off the wall in the shower room.
So my parents will never have anybody round to do it again.
As for me, I am interested if it keeps this place warmer. It doesnt seem to keep the heat in too well at all.........0 -
Had it done and no problems, except to get them back out to top it up.
Recent had an extension and the fill was patchy, so they pumped some more in.
The rockwool in the cavity was bone dry.
However, I am not sure I'd risk it on a significantly older house or one where the cavity is likely be subject to more moisture.0
