Made the first invite!

Just made the first invite using all the proper materials (until now it had been a mockup on normal paper). Going to get H2B and mum to read everything through and check it before I start running them all off.
Sooo excited!! And pretty pleased with it. My brother got a wedding invite the other week and the couple were paying £5 per invite! Ours are going to work out to around £1 each plus a stamp. Since I went about £200 over budget on my dress, this makes me feel better. All the work I'm doing on them is like I'm earning my dress. :money:
I don't know how to embed pics, so here's the links:

All the card and envelopes are from Paper Mill. You can't really see but both the red and ivory cards are thick and textured. The champagne glasses on the front are a rubber stamp I got online. Everything else is just printed off the computer.

LOL thanks guys. Think we'll need about 45 in total. Not planning on sending them out till February, so can work on them gradually over the next month.

Then favour boxes, placecards etc to start on!0 -
I've got all the card, and have designed the fonts and monogram to print onto them.. I'm just worried about it messing up in my printer! Wondering if it'll be really expensive to send it to a proper printing shop.
These are lovely though, I decided on the pocketfold invite style as well

I like them! The only thing I would add is the RSVP date. Check with the venue to see when they need final figures and then leave another couple of week on top of that to chase up the stragglers. (people just dont bother RSVPing these days!)It all works out good in the end.If it's not good, it's not the end!0

Thanks Karen. The RSVP card has the date on it, as well as the address to send it to. But I guess I shouldn't rely on people reading that in full.

Our venue's great - we can adjust the numbers up to five days before, so if we get any late pull-outs we won't be lumbered with a bill for them. Our main meal is a hot carved buffet, one of the benefits being that if someone doesn't show up their portion won't go to waste.
Melly - our card is really thick and we've just got a cheap inkjet, it went through fine. I'd say definitely try it before sending it out. If you're worried about it, maybe buy a sheet of slightly thinner card to put through first and work up to the main stuff.
