I was really thinking about the person who told the office junior that the OP dealt drugs, which then made her think that really could be the case when he made a joking comment.
Good point, but it is going to be hard to get to the nub of that particular conversation.

Maybe, but I would bet that if asked ( as part of the disciplinary process) the junior would spill the beans, and then that information would be in the public domain for the OP to with as he saw fit. However, I accept that from the pov of the employer that would not be a constructive or helpful question to ask, but the OP could ask it when he gets the opportunity to state his case and ask questions.

I bet the HR department are really wishing none of this had started.

The OP has a lot of useful ammunition and help on here and I hope that it continues.

I still do not understand how you have been charged with use of drug substances..?. You were not at the works do when this happened, you were in a bar in the High Street, as far as i can see that has nothing to do with your work..... Also the argument happened away from the works do didn't it..?. How can you be disiplined for that.

would it be relevant for the op to ask what type of drugs exactly is he accused of using as the 'symptoms of drug use' that have been noted do not indicate a specific drug per say.

It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?

Not seen this mentioned but one of the side effects of citalopram is a runny nose - so not only were you sniffing because of a cold but because of the prescribed medication.

OP, if you think these barrack room lawyers off here are going to help you get yourself out of this mess, you really must be on drugs.

You have dealt with the situation terribly from the first accusation in the toilets of the pub, and you seem intent on making yourself look like a t1t at every opportunity since then.

When you cut through the 20 odd pages of bullsh1t on here, the fact is, your job lies in the hands of one man... might be a manager, might be the MD. He's been told that Matty Smith has been suspended. When he asks why, he will be told "one of the girls in Felix's department reckons he offered to get her some gear".

"Oh dear, that's not good is it?" the manager /MD will reply.

"well, that's not the best of it." the supervisor will continue, "Geoffery, the team leader in Matty's department is sure he heard him in a pub cubicle sniffing away like you've never heard..... comes out completly out of his tree, eyes like saucers and getting all lairy with Geoffery and Malcom, the team leader from the 3rd floor."

"!!!!!!" says the MD, "get him in quick, let's hear what he's got to say for himself, then sack him."

The supervisor smiles as he retreats backwards through the MD's door, "I'm afraid that won't be possible just yet Sir Cedric. He's rung in sick... stress".

Not really seeing the point in that?

OP, Good Luck if the Hearing is going ahead tomorrow and I wish I could be a fly on the wall when the Sales Manager is informed he's to be investigated :D
