Can my meter reading be wrong?!

Hi webs 24 - The first thing to check is the type of gas meter you have. Look at the front and on it will be either 'M3' for a Metric meter, or 'Ft3' for an Imperial meter.
From the figures you have given of units used, converted to Kw charged, you are almost certainly being charged on the basis of an Imperial meter, which if you have Metric meter makes a huge difference to your bill.:
One Imperial meter unit converts to app. 32.5 chargeabl Kw
One Metric meter unit converts to app. 11.2 chargeable Kw
Having got all that out of the way, your useage does seem high, but there are a huge number of factors that can affect it - is your flat on the top floor with a poorly insualted loft for instance ? What type of Glazing do you have ? Are the outside walls of solid brick ?
Best of Luck
On the money there - we have a metric meter but NPower forgot to change that on their system so they thought it was still Imperial. Bless.
All sorted now, so thank you all for your words of advice!:money::beer::j0 -

Looks like some clever souls worked out the problem...without visiting my flat!:p0 -
Hi again wesb 24 - You are going to be in for a BIG, BIG credit from n'power, however if it is only notified to you by phone or letter, reply in writing saying that you want each bill you have had from them, ( that is after the meter change if it was changed whilst you were in residence), re-calculated in detail for your Metric meter.
Happy Xmas0 -
A good start to the new year then!0
