Evening all, was a lovely sunrise for us, perched on the banks of the humber. Winged a very short ritual which involved one member coughing up shortbread, 2 collapsing into the giggles and Child putting her wellies in the circle. This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Whats solstice and pagan mean?

paganism is a religion - actually I've heard it called a 'non-prophet dis-organisation' as there's no set dogma, and trying to get a bunch of pagans to agree is like trying to nail jelly to the wall.
Summer Solstice is today - longest day of the year, marks the descent from Summer into winter, the long slide begins now. We look back on the past half year and 'tweak' any plans we might have so that by end of year we're on track again. Time of fruitfulness, and giving thanks for the continued plenty. This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Summer solstice is the longest day and the high point of the summer. It's the point at which the Goddess is at the height of her powers, so feel free to tremble!
"Paganism" is a catch-all term for ancient religions based on a reverence for nature and has very little to do with The Wicker Man! :rotfl::eek: What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about? :eek:Official "Bring back Mark and Lard NOW! or else (please)" Member 160 -
Paganism is an umbrella term covering groups like Wiccans, witches, Druids, Asatru, Goddess-centric paths, neo-shamans etc.
Actually what's practiced today is more accurately called Neo-Paganism, but that's another discussion
The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0 -
Did I mention the thing about getting Pagans to agree? This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Lol! I'm no longer a Pagan but DH is. Like herding cats, innit. It's the same in the Christian world. The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. happy solstice all.
comment about being a slightly lapsed pagan made me smile... guess i'm a slightly lapsed pagan ex lapsed slightly catholic (or something...)
anyway reading comments on here is inspiring me to do a few 'salute to the suns' at least.
am feeling fed up cos yesterday, having slightly miscalculated that i could afford to pay off my remaining credit card debt this month, (yeay) i have piad that off, but ended up with £100 of bank charges due to going over my overdraft limit - thought i had cancelled or put back DDs, but forgot about the little ones i had set up for magazine offers i found over on the shopping board!!! sigh.... oh well, it's an incentive for me to get a move on with my bank charges reclaiming - about £1000 in total i reckon. so blessings to you all... even the banks...
