Stoke-on-Trent County Court ruled in favour of Tony and Elaine Williams after they proved paperwork from Car Clamping Securities (CCS) was not properly completed after officers clamped their car.
The firm has been ordered to return the £94 release fee paid by Mrs Williams and costs. And the couple say if the company doesn't pay up they will send round bailiffs to collect what they are owed.
They believe other people who have paid release fees could also have been issued with tickets that have not been properly filled out and hope their victory will encourage them to check their paperwork and pursue their case.
Mr Williams researched regulations for car clamping companies. He found that all clampers must be registered and must clearly print both their name and licence number on a ticket.

The couple have since found that Midlands-based CCS is subject to a Trading Standards investigation, relating to complaints over clamping. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
I see a morphing coming up.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

So do I. Sadly they have little chance of getting their cash."There's no such thing as Macra. Macra do not exist."

At least there is one suitable comment, was expecting it would be reported by the clampers, and removed. Can't have the public knowing what happens to clampers.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Does that mean if their name and licence number isn't on the ticket I shouldn't have to pay? I have been clamped and this info isn't on my ticket - there is someone on the way to take payment, should I just pay and argue later?0 -
Don't remind hem of anything. The more errors they make makes it easier to claim back later. Any claim is to the landlord as well as clampers often ignore even ccj's.
(Glad to see you on pepipoo )
Use credit card if possible.
Later you can have a major go at landlord if there's no lease or whatever.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
