can i pass word protect a USB flash drive?

in Techie Stuff
bought a 16Gb pen/flash drive from play.com, is there a simple way of pasword protecting the whole thing, or individual folders on it please?

Truecrypt is fantastic. not only password protects but encrypts the stick too. when you want to access the files you just supply the password then all files show up instantly just like an unencrypted drive.
when you pull the stick out it unmounts the drive, leaving the usb stick encrypted. it is amazingly good and completely free! Just download it.0
