You asked for one example, I duly provided one that specifically targeted something other than the Windows Firewall
If you're somehow assuming that the programs you mention have not been targeted then I suggest you start off by identifying the processes that each of those applications creates and then search by that of the processes that each application creates and then use that as the basis of your search.0 -
anewhope ~ im not going to bother
The initial point of the post was to indicate that windows firewall is fine by itself and that if anything DID get past the defenses then a firewall would be useless. People then went on to say that its 'easy' to knock out a firewall.
I completely disagree with that statement. PC TOOLS firewall is what I use and id put that above windows firewall for security any day ~

The chances of ANY nasty targetting ALL firewalls is almost certainly never going to happen. The chance of it targetting my own personal one (PC TOOLS) over windows is very slim. PC TOOLS is also very quick to react to any security issues found
Getting back to basics though ~ windows firewall v pc tools firewall in default modes. If anything DID get past the 1st defenses then at least pctools has a fighting chance of stopping it. Windows firewall has all but given up at this point.:idea:0
