Biodiesel

Options
I don't have a car so it's no use to me but I recently read about 'biodiesel' and think it's a great thing!

I have converted a couple of friends to it already, although there are limited outlets.

yep, it's a great idea, although don't do it on lease vehicles!

Would converting to lpg be better in the long run?

Unfortunately in a Nissan Micra (previous type - not the new type) there isn't really scope for LPG conversion so I figure I'll have to wait until we replace it to get LPG.

I have a Suzuki Wagon R, useful for Freecycle, that's my excuse, but now actively looking to use it less often.
Write down shopping needed and essential journeys to be made etc, pretty sure I can bring to down to twice a week.
    Now where's that bike......

Tough isn't it, I can't count the number of times when I lived out in the sticks in Yorkshire that I was the only passenger on an old model bus (they only use crappy old ones for rural service..why!?) travelling 10 miles or so for 90p, but god knows how much diesel it belted out.
Thng is I don't drive, and can't afford cabs, so you can't win..

hmm apparantly biodeisel is partly composed of palm oil, which I didn't know before and kind of cancels out the benefits of using it!

Must persuade those friends to ditch their cars and take the bus/ d.l.r like me! lol

Biodiesel can be made from chip fat though, as they did in "It's not easy being green"

Tricky though, as it may nullify your waranty on your car, some manufacturers will support the approved biodiesel, but some dont, but almost certainly none will advocate making your own.
