I am regretting moving to Eon. Since Wedenesday when my payment card for gas had been corrupted and didn't register my £50.00 that I put on the card. I have had nothing but hassle and after been on the phone for over 20 minutes to Eon came to the conclusion that it was either my meter or my card was knackered. On Thursday I have had to get an emergency gas engineer to top up my meter by £5.00 as I was out of gas. The engineer told me that it was a corrupt card. He ordered me a new card. I received me new card today and installed it to register it on the meter it basically said that there was no-money on the card, but when I pulled the card out it has now registered with £53.21 emergency gas accepted. I have just spent the last 20 minutes on the phone to Eon who tell me that it is actually a credit even though it is saying on the meter as emergency gas accepted.

I have used this pre-payment meters before and when you have gone into emergency gas and then top it off then the display still shouldn't show emergency gas accepted. Now I get the feeling that I am now £53.21 in debt and Still now clearer to getting this sorted out I will need to get this sorted before the next time I top up as it will I think take that amount off me and will leave me without any gas and have booked and engineer to come out on the 6th Jan to get this working.

Can anyone help...

I work for British gas not eon, but the meters work the same.

If they sent a message to give you the £50 back the meter wouldn't have seen it as a top up and so off limits for paying back emergency. My guess is £50 real credit. And £3.ish emergency
