unautherised balance transfer......

:mad:Anyone else having this problem, got myself the new Asda credit card ,hoping to pay for Christmas , as hubby on 4 day week and they offered 3months interest free on purchases.

But after card was rejected at a store , I rang( a not english company) and found out that there was a balance transfer of over £1366 and a transfer fee of £48 on my card , they didnt help saying I had to wait till my statment arrived, as they had no details of the actual transfer.
To cut this story VERY short ,after 3 emails asking them to investigate, (one reply simply said it was mine ,tough,) and two 30 minute phone calls (one to security) they have admitted that it was the member of staff who took my details on activation's error. ( he didnt log off my details and added the next customers transfer) I still havent had this account cleared of this mistake and have no monies available for Christmas. and am out several pounds in phone calls (0871..)

The treatment by them has been disgusting, it took seconds to put this on my account but they still cannot clear it..
Even today I received an email asking me to check did I not have a certain card with a certain bank, and to confirm yet again it was not mine.

Help....... I have threatened them with the ombudsman ( would that be any good?) and the local newspaper.
I am disabled and in a state with this.
any advice please?

The Ombudsman will do little for you unless you've started the official complaints procedure with the company. Have you asked to register a formal complaint?
    What would William Shatner do?
  • I have told them both by email and verbally i was complaining but have not done so in writing yet .
