  • This doesn't help your situation, but water pipes are typically buried about 18inches underground, to protect them from freezing in pretty much all but a really harsh winter. I'd therefore be surprised if it was a frozen pipe. If it is in the marginal freezing temperatures we've had then it would not bode well for the typical temperatures we get in Jan/Feb time.

I'd be inclined to check with neighbours and double check stop taps etc first (unless you have had the house *rally* cold)

might be a good plan to call your supplier as well to make sure they haven't turned off the supply somewhere in order to do "essential" work.

But as its now two hours since this was raised and not another peep since I guess its either fixed or the OP has emigrated in disgust. :D

    Cheers

modern systems with combi boilers dont have any storage tanks.

Pretty cold here - south lincolnshire - outside temp gauge reading minus 4 this morning, and was minus 3 at 4 this afternoon, and forecast is for it to be down to minus 6, so stand by for more freezing pipes.

May I suggest that, when the weather improves, you make sure that you can turn the stopcock off. Also any other water isolators inside the house. You are just asking for trouble, if you do not.....
    A) know where the isolators are
and B) make sure that they can all be operated in an emergency.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.
